Donald Peters
Commissioner Donald Peters was elected to the office of Commissioner on March 14, 2023, for a three-year term ending March 2026.
Don has been living in Florida part time for 15 years and has been permanently residing in Highland Beach for the last 2 1/2 years at the Villa Nova Condominium.
Don was elected and served as the Yorktown, NY (population of 40,000) Town Supervisor, where he managed the Town's affairs and a $50 million budget. Prior to this community service he was a police officer for 20 years in Yorktown, NY. His business experience includes ownership of the Sports Barn for 45 years, affording him diverse small business knowledge.
Don went to Boston University, Mercy College and Long Island University. He has a B.S. and Master's Degree in Criminal Justice and Social Science. He has a life partner, Anita, who is actively involved in Highland Beach community affairs. His two children and four grandchildren are looking forward to enjoying Highland Beach as well.
Don is honored and proud to be elected a Commissioner of Highland Beach. He will listen to the concerns of our residents and advocate on their behalf.
